The Alien Squid
ORIGINAL PROP DESIGNED TO BE CUT OPEN ON CAMERA
I created a short video that demonstrates the prop in action, showing the silicone and latex guts oozing out and the different textures inside the head.
The prop is made from two pieces of cast silicone and has a hollow cavity that can be filled up with slime and cast silicone guts. The head section contains cast J-Foam to give an interesting texture inside. I produced a short video that shows the prop being used.
I made a multiple-part fiberglass-supported Vinamould mould and cast the squid in Smooth-On Dragonskin.
