Old Cthulhu
A sculpture totem of the lovecraftian classic
This sculpture came as one of my earliest experiments with polymer clay. The classic character from H.P Lovecraft’s short story “The Call of Cthulhu” is somewhat formless, with only a loose description of the godly being provided in the literature. This allowed me to be creative with the design. I pictured him as an old, wise man, with a vast knowledge of the cosmos. I turned a decorative plinth from spalted wood to display the painted bust.
